This milestone, along with global expansion and the launch of five significant new solutions, reinforces the company's position as a provider of choice for IT administrators in the Intelligent Access and Monitoring sector. These achievements mark a dynamic year of growth and industry recognition for the company and set up powerful momentum going into its 15-year anniversary in 2011.
"Surpassing the millionth port in 2010 shows Net Optics' broad strengths and emphasizes the correct direction of their technology-oriented portfolio," said Timur Oezcan, Channel Manager, Brainforce. "This success is yet another indication of the widespread acceptance of Net Optics' growing solution set and demonstrates the strength of its International Sales Channel program. We highly appreciate this accomplishment and look forward to the second millionth port." The past year, Net Optics also received several important industry distinctions -- most notably McAfee's 2010 Quality Process Improvement Award in the Excellence in Quality category. Net Optics competed against 16 short-listed suppliers vying for honors in the Fourth Annual McAfee Awards Program.
"Net Optics proactively engaged their staff in a 'Lean Kaizen' process improvement project for McAfee's production line. This cross-functional Kaizen event was conducted in July and established One-Piece-Flow for all McAfee products," said Larry Schiro, VP of Commodity Management, McAfee. "Their effort reduced cycle time and factory floor space by more than 50 percent while increasing capacity to handle surge in demand." Net Optics has also received significant national and regional media recognition, including inclusion in the prestigious Inc. 5000 list of top companies and the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal's list of fastest growing private companies in 2010.
Net Optics' highly-regarded family of solutions also grew in 2010 with the launch of Director xStream Pro(™), the flagship high-end network controller switch, and xBalancer(™) which set a new "industry first" record (40Gbps) for dynamic load balancing and supporting 240Gbps bi-directional traffic. Net Optics also debuted their Indigo Pro(™) Management Platform, a comprehensive solution enabling IT administrators to monitor very large deployments of Net Optics products and enhance network intelligence while improving IT operational efficiency.
On the business and operations front, the company expanded sales and technical support operations considerably, both domestically and worldwide, to sustain unprecedented business growth resulting from rapid adoption of the Director(™) family of products. Throughout the past year, Net Optics added more than 400 new customers, which represents a 54 percent increase over last year.
"The past year, our growth was driven by our innovation, starting with the launch of five significant new solutions to our existing line of products which had prompted global demand rarely seen in the industry," said Bob Shaw, CEO, Net Optics. "As we march on to our fifteenth year, we will continue to provide IT administrators with the best and most technologically advanced intelligent access and monitoring architecture solutions on the market today." Net Optics' advanced solutions are currently deployed in more than 7,000 enterprises and government organizations worldwide, helping to improve network efficiency, monitor all aspects of digital traffic and maintain regulatory compliance.
