Interface Masters Technologies Announces Industry First 100G Intelligent Active Bypass Switch
Niagara 2851 supports active and passive failover of 100 Gigabit Inline AppliancesRSA Conference, San Francisco, CA, April 22, 2015 – Interface Masters Technologies, a technology and an industry leader in the network visibility market, today announced its official launch of the market’s first 100G Intelligent Active Bypass Switch. The Niagara 2851 100G Intelligent External Active bypass is designed to integrate with Inline Networking Devices and Security Appliances. Niagara 2851 consists of a single segment of 100Gb bypass which possesses active and passive bypass switching capabilities. The active bypass feature enables seamless failover without interrupting the communication session in the case of disaster recovery scenarios such as hardware failure, software crash or link loss. In the case of a power outage, the passive bypass functionality will guarantee that the network continues to flow. Niagara 2851 delivers plug-and-play connectivity and includes Interface Masters’ patented auto heartbeat technology which requires no additional drivers to be installed on connected appliances. The Niagara 2851 compliments Interface Master’s robust and established world class line of 40 Gigabit, 10 Gigabit and 1 Gigabit Intelligent active bypass switches.
Internet traffic is increasing exponentially, with data demands doubling every two years due to increasing adoption of unified communications, video and VoIP services and the emergence of Big Data and the Internet of Things. In this rapidly evolving market, high-performance computing and faster communications is paramount. 40G and 100G networking solutions are now being deployed and the requirement for failover and intelligent TAP is growing. Network engineers and managers in charge of Inline systems like Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), Intrusion Detection & Prevention, Unified Threat Management, WAN acceleration, Firewall, Load balancing, and VPN gateway devices can guarantee network connectivity by utilizing the Niagara 2851. The newly introduced system enables proactive disconnection of inline network appliances for maintenance or replacement without interrupting the network traffic. This ensures that hardware/firmware can be updated or new upload rules and signatures can be loaded with zero network downtime.
“Interface Masters is excited to announce the industry’s first 100Gb Active Bypass system, targeted towards the Security, Monitoring and Networking markets. As first to market with this technology, Interface Masters has demonstrated its’ leadership and commitment to the Network visibility and Monitoring market,” stated Ben Askarinam, founder and CEO of Interface Masters Technologies. “Following The Niagara 2851 Interface Masters is working on additional monitoring solutions that address 25Gb and 100Gb networks with extensive capabilities and features to enable better network visibility.”
