Director Network Module (DNM) is a pluggable, field upgradeable Director module with 12 network ports. In the past, link renegotiation has been a major challenge for copper taps, costing precious seconds or minutes of link downtime when Tap power transitions. DNM-1O1 VZD liminates those lengthy renegotiation cycles by preserving the link state through power transitions, as if no break existed.

Compact Network Packet Broker with Integrated Failsafe Taps for 1G and 10G Network Monitoring with Scale

The Ixia Director™ and Director Pro™ are compact versions of Network Packet Broker (NPB) with integrated failsafe taps for inline network access and direct traffic of interest to your monitoring tools. The Director Pro differs from Director mainly in two key functions, one in providing dynamic load balancing to tools and the other in supporting complex Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) filters.

Dynamic load balancing distributes the traffic load from 10G and aggregated 1G traffic evenly over multiple tools, while retaining flow integrity. DPI filters provide a powerful capability to look deep inside packets, using pattern matching ASCII or hex - based data within packet payloads. With Director or Director Pro, you can monitor as many as 26 SPAN ports or 13 in - line links with up to 11 monitoring tools depending on configuration. When the tool ports are configured in simplex mode, 10 additional SPAN ports can be connected.

In addition to the configuration flexibility, TapFlow™ filtering technology allows you to perform "smart filtering" and direct traffic of interest based on protocols, IP addresses, ports, VLANs. For Director Pro, additional filter capability includes: utilization threshold, Ethertype, outer MPLS label, and accurate ranges. The filtered traffic can be directed from any network links or span ports to any of the monitoring tools. Up to 10 Director or 2 Director Pro can be daisy - chained to increase the scalability. Director Pro can also be daisy chained with Director; however, it must remain head or tail position of a chain. The Ixia Director and Director Pro provide the access capabilities you need to leverage your monitoring tools across your entire network while streamlining the amount of data the tools need to process. It's a versatile component of a monitoring access platform (MAP) for improved network visibility and security threat management across the entire network.

Net Optics new DNM-101 Module´s innovative Virtual Zero Delay circuitry guarantees that your Director™ and Director Pro™ in-line copper connections will never lose their links when power goes off for whatever reason - such as power failures or during planned power up and power down events. In the past, link renegotiation has been a major challenge for copper Taps, costing precious seconds or minutes of link downtime when Tap power transitions. DNM-101 VZD eliminates those lengthy renegotiation cycles by preserving the link state through power transitions, as if no break existed.
